Reagan Presidential Library-a bucket list item checked

Today, July 6, was Wayne's birthday so we planned a bucket list item for both of us, a tour of President Ronald Reagan's Presidential Library...

The Library was so well done, nice movies, pictures, artifacts, and displays to pull together his history.

Wayne shares his birthday with Nancy Reagan and George W. Bush, so the visit seemed so appropriate!

We found ourselves marveling at his many quotes...

And wondering why today's politicians don't take a page from his playbook of compassion mixed with toughness (peace through strength was one of his quotes) and eloquent speeches that made you proud to be an American!

The Oval Office reproduction was very cool...

And going onboard his actual Airforce One 707 and Marine Helicopter were way cool (no inside pics allowed)

From his love affair with Nancy to his poignant letter to the American People when he discover he had Altzimer's brought tears

And their final resting place, a beautiful spot...

It was our first visit to a Presidential Library but this was truly special. We finished the day with a nice lunch out!

Tomorrow we move on to Marina, CA so we can revisit the Carmel, Big Sur area.
