On to Montana

On Friday, Aug 12, we left St Regis. I didn't want to leave the nice campground with 5 acres of grass for puppies to play!

Dad decided to not take the interstate and instead do a scenic byway...that usually means curvy roads for poor old Finny boy, but not this time, it was really pretty and cut off 80 mi! Of course all of Mom's pictures are through the windshield, but you'll get the idea!

The first part of the trip was along the Clark Fork River...

Then we moved into Montana ranch land

And finally Flathead Lake...

Our campground was an old timey one where Mom and Dad squeezed the coach between trees, but once in, it was nice...and met my criteria of lots of grass! Now you might be wondering why we stopped in Kalispell, so close to our next stop at Glacier National Park. Well, Dad met a nice lady doing the closing on Granny's house and what do you know, her Dad owns a Dude Ranch! Yep, Mom and Dad went horseback riding!

Mom's horse was named Jack (my niece Jenna will be jealous) and Dad's was Archie. Jack was 12 and Archie was 13, just teenagers! Mom and Dad said they had a lot of fun!

The views were beautiful and although they sometimes see bears and mountain lions on this ride, Mom and Dad didn't see any!

Their guides were Alexa and Melissa (how about that Missy?) and took no guff from any of the 13 of us on the trip, stopping reckless kids from harming the horses or themselves a few times! They knew their stuff!

Mom and Dad were so glad they went!

Tomorrow we will get ready for our trip to Glacier. We can't wait to see Auntie Sharon, Uncle Bobby, their good friend Vickie and my bud Cooper!

  1. The pictures are beautiful! Wait until I tell Jeena about the horse named Jack. With a guide named Melissa, of course they were good!
